The Paxman Hair Loss Prevention System has been designed to be totally flexible for both patients and nursing staff.
Patient
The cooling caps worn by the patient are lightweight and comfortable to wear. Patients can relax during the cooling process, engage in a number of activities and visit the bathroom without affecting their treatment.
- High level of patient tolerance and acceptability
- The risk of hair loss is greatly reduced and patients' self confidence is therefore improved
- Self image is preserved which leads to positive attitudes towards treatment and cure
- Social life and activities need not be inhibited
- Proven success rates
Nursing Staff
The system is simple to operate with no complicated dials or controls and easy to read digital displays allowing instant visual monitoring. The compact nature and manoeuvrability of the system ensures an efficient use of space. Nursing staff do not need to be in attendance with patients during cooling, allowing time to attend to other duties.
- The scalp is maintained at a constant temperature
- The procedure is comfortable and pain free during treatment, and avoids the sudden chill of some other systems
- The caps are both simple to use and easy to understand for medical staff and patients alike
- Caps are simply washed after each use in preparation for the next patient
Termination of Cooling
When the scalp cooling process has been completed, a nurse will attend the patient, assisting with the removal of the cap. The patient is then left to acclimatise ensuring they are comfortable before leaving the hospital. The system can be either left running for continuation of the second patient, left running awaiting a new patient or switched off. |
